About Madeline Neely

Hello! I am a highly motivated recent graduate from the University of Oregon with a triple major studying Global Studies (with an emphasis on Global Health), Psychology, and Spanish and a minor in Global Service. I began a passion for Global Studies and Public Health through a 2018 leadership conference in Berlin, Germany. In order to attend, I fundraised for four years and created my own business, selling art. Through the University, I have been able to study abroad twice. In 2021, I studied the Spanish language in beautiful Segovia, Spain. Over the summer of 2022, I worked as an intern for FEIM, a women's rights organization in Buenos Aires, Argentina. There, I helped with a project tackling child marriage and translated important UN statements. In my senior year, I worked at the Oregon Public Health Corps, where I will had the opportunity to work on the ground connecting people to public health resources. Additionally, I was a Legislative Fellowship with the Planned Parenthood Advocates of Oregon PAC where I helped advocate for HB 2002 and other bill priorities in addition to campaign efforts for the school board elections.I also completed an honors thesis on health outcomes for North African migrants into the Spanish enclaves in Morocco. My goals post-grad are to work in public health, mental health, global public health, or international development. I am passionate about cultural competence and mental health awareness. Eventually, I hope to go on to get a Master's in Public Health.
