About Madelyn Ayers

Welcome! I am a psychology undergraduate at Dominican University of California with minors in Clinical/Counseling Science and Health Humanities. I hold a 4.0 GPA and am a member of the University Honors Program and Psi Chi chapter. I will graduate with a BA in Psychology in December 2025. During the 2024-2025 school year, I completed my undergraduate thesis entitled,"Trauma-informed Care – A Catalyst for Strong Therapeutic Alliances," that explored the impact of trauma-informed care on a client's perception of the therapeutic alliance. Additionally, I worked as a Research Assistant in the Health and Motivation Lab, under Dr. Benjamin Rosenberg, and investigated goal disruption theory. Beyond academics, I am a support teacher for elementary students at Mark Day School. I also serve as a Youth Mental Health Academy Mentor with the Child Mind Institute, where I support high school students from marginalized communities with the transitions occurring in adolescence. My long-term goal is to complete a Master's program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and become a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.
