About Madelyn Markman
My name is Madelyn Markman and I am a senior undergraduate student at the University of Florida, pursuing a dual-degree in: Digital Film & TV Production (B.S.) and French & Francophone Studies (B.A.). More personally, I am a DIY fashion enthusiast, and I combined this passion with my calling for reality TV production to create the hilarious reality TV competition show: Runway Rivals. Runway Rivals is a reality TV show where fashion designers compete to upcycle runway looks out of locally-sourced secondhand materials. Audiences love watching the designers of Runway Rivals turn clothes that were too "undesirable" to sell at the thrift shop into amazing runway looks— and love watching the comedic feuds between the models, as well! By creating a reality TV show that advances the sustainable fashion movement, I want to inspire my generation to see clothing as an outlet for creativity and skill-development and upcycle a more sustainable world in the process.
