About Madhu Verma

With a strong passion for children's empowerment and social change, I founded Design for Change Singapore (DFCSG), a pioneering social enterprise dedicated to activating children's agency in shaping a more sustainable and desirable future. I have spent last 15 years working with teachers understanding and fulfilling their needs in their schools and helping them to build an ecosystem that empowers every child to believe in making the world a more desirable, equitable and sustainable. Since 2010, DFCSG has been a trailblazer in introducing Design Thinking to children (8-15years old), using a simple yet powerful 4-step framework: Feel-Imagine-Do-Share. Over the past 15 years, our programs and initiatives have empowered over young minds to create real social impact by practicing empathy, building creative courage, and collaborating to take meaningful action. As part of the global Design for Change network spanning 70 countries, DFCSG is committed to preparing the next generation to (not only navigate but) thrive in an increasingly complex world. I strongly believe that young people need to believe that they have the skills to build a more just, fair, and compassionate world; that is the most important purpose of education.and with human-centered, collaborative, and optimistic mindset, we can empower them to do that. I hold a Master’s degree in Marketing from Massey University, NZ and her independent study on ‘Cross-sector Alliances’ won the Australia and New Zealand Marketing Association Award. I worked in the wide range of marketing, business development, institutional sponsorship roles with Microsoft, Yellow Pages, Oxfam NZ, ITC Hotels and Stamford Plaza Auckland. I am also an NLP master practitioner and NLP life coach.
