About Madison Cabuco

My name is Madison Cabuco and I graduated in May 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology Cum Laude and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Language and Literature Cum Laude from North Carolina State University. I am the Paralegal in the Child Welfare Division of Pender County Department of Social Services. From August to November of 2021, I interned full-time at the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation Headquarters, the Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ISAAC) in Garner, North Carolina. During my time at the agency, I developed skills such as intelligence collection and analysis and event planning while also advancing my knowledge of criminological and sociological theories and improving my writing and note taking skills. I took part in the coordination of the 2021 Field Liaison Officer Training Workshop in Cherokee, North Carolina alongside my supervisor Assistant Special Agent in Charge, Tiffany Galvez, and her partner, Lieutenant Scottie Chavis with the State Highway Patrol. Upon graduation from NCSU, I accepted employment as a Research Assistant to Rep. John Faircloth of the NC General Assembly. Representative Faircloth has held his position for six terms with District 62 of the Northern Piedmont area. As his Research Assistant, I attended all oversight committee meetings, spoke with constituents, and conducted research for fluid bill passage during session. As of July 22, 2024, I have been employed with the Pender County Department of Social Services. I am the Paralegal for the Child Welfare Division and work alongside CPS Investigators, CPS Social Workers, and Foster Care Social Workers. My caseload consists of writing Court Orders, attending legal staffings, assisting the DSS attorneys, attending all DSS court dates, and maintaining relationships with county clerks, social workers and investigators, and members of the Guardian ad Litem program
