About Madison Cox

I am a lifelong nature lover led by my innate curiosity and my desire to understand and to optimize the world that we experience daily. I stumbled upon the field of mathematical biology early in my university days and was quickly taken by its interdisciplinary nature that combines technical mathematical techniques and complex biological phenomena to ultimately solve problems. I soon pursued various projects that exposed me to mathematical modeling in areas ranging from epidemiology to ecological theory to neuroscience. Most recently I have been working with a biologist and a fellow mathematical modeler to help save an endangered steelhead trout population from the effects of an invasive crayfish predator. I am currently looking for opportunities in mathematical modeling and data science. In particular I am looking to continue working in ecology or to branch into agriculture.
