About Madison Hendriksen

Occupational therapist with a passion for creativity and lifelong learning, and a strong interest in mental health and social justice. My interests in social justice and equity led me to pursue an Honours Specialization in Social Justice and Peace Studies (SJPS) at King’s University College at UWO. As an SJPS student, I was constantly strengthening my critical thinking and analytical skills when learning about topics such as violence, racism, sexism, migration, disability, systemic barriers, occupational injustice and the intersectional nature of all these concepts. My experience as an SJPS student paired with my ambition to help others is what lead me to go after a career in Occupational Therapy. As an occupational therapist, I plan to continue to advocate for mental health and social justice while enabling others to solve problems that interfere with their self-care, leisure activities, and productivity.
