About Madison Hess

Education: As a recent from West Virginia University, I have proudly maintained a 3.9 GPA and have earned a place on the President's list. My passion lies in the intersection of Fashion Merchandising and Fashion Design, which I have pursued as my major and Area of Emphasis. Additionally, I have completed alongside a minor in Art History, providing me with a well-rounded understanding of the creative and historical aspects of the industry. In addition to my academic pursuits, I have actively engaged in extracurricular activities, including membership in Mirage Magazine, volunteering in Pittsburgh Fashion Week, and serving as an officer for FBA. Through my involvement in these clubs, I have honed my leadership skills and collaborated with fellow students to create engaging content and events. As strong advocate for sustainable design, I have taken several courses focused on green design practices, equipping me with the knowledge and tools necessary to contribute to building a more environmentally conscious future. Further Experience: My creativity and passion for design are reflected in my proficiency in various software programs, including Browzwear, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Moreover, I possess practical skills in fabric sampling, sewing, and textiles, allowing me to produce high-quality projects and products. During the summer of 2021, I had the opportunity to intern with two different companies, where I collaborated on email marketing campaigns and grew Instagram followings. My excellent organizational skills ensured that all tasks were completed efficiently and effectively. Helping others bring their design visions to life brings me great joy, whether it is creating spaces or garments. My internship with MMI Textiles provided me with invaluable experience in the fabric and textile industry, specifically in the military, medical, and commercial fields. Current Updates: As I prepare to graduate, I am thrilled to have been accepted into Central St. Marin's Interior Design and Advanced Fashion Design program in London for the summer. This dedicated experience will further enrich my understanding of the industry and allow me to continue pursuing my passion for design. In addition to my enthusiasm for starting the program, I am anticipating the opportunity to travel and broaden my understanding of different people and cultures, which has emerged as a newfound goal.
