About Madison Lanza

I completed my student teaching in two, eight-week placements. The first was in an Early Childhood Special Education Pre-K 4 classroom at Olmsted Elementary in Urbandale. The second was in a first-grade classroom at Wallace Elementary in Johnston. In both experiences, I had the opportunity to create whole-group and small-group lessons using district curriculum, progress-monitor and assess student learning, engage in professional development, collaborate with the grade-level team and other staff, and more. I am a graduate of Iowa State University with a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education and a minor in Child, Adult, and Family Services. I will receive my Early Childhood Initial Teaching License after the first of the year, certifying me in teaching Birth through Grade 3. I will have Iowa endorsements 262, PK-K Early Childhood Special Education, and 1001, Birth-Grade 3 Inclusive Settings. I received an Associate's Degree in 2019 from Des Moines Area Community College in Liberal Arts with a focus on Pre-education. There, I was a part of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. I graduated from Ballard High School in 2017. I have worked with children since my freshman year of high school, both in a childcare setting and at-home settings, as an assistant teacher and nanny. I have worked with children of all ages, from infants through school age. I also have had experience in preschool and elementary classrooms through college courses and practicums.
