About Madison McCarthy

I’m a Junior at Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business with a 4.0 GPA pursuing a B.S. in Business Administration with Marketing and Finance concentrations and a minor in Economics. I am passionate about sports, and specifically basketball, and hope to pursue a career in the sports business industry. As a Marketing Scholars Candidate, I am one of 40 students in a program aimed at providing unique, high-profile opportunities to advance marketing careers through visits to leading advertising agencies and exposure to other industry-leading professionals. I am also a member of the Fordham Marketing Association, serve as an Orientation Leader for incoming students at Rose Hill, and participate in Fordham’s intramural and club basketball leagues. As a Fordham Women’s Basketball Manager, I have gained experience supporting 13 Division 1 athletes and eight coaching staff during year-round training, practices, and 30+ Atlantic 10 Conference games. I have perfected my organizational skills by managing and coordinating logistics, while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless team operations. This experience has equipped me with the ability to multitask effectively and successfully perform in a fast-paced environment, while managing the demands of the team’s rigorous travel schedule with my full academic course load. I was also fortunate to participate in a Summer Intensive Workshop at Seaport Global, an Institutional Financial Services firm, where I gained exposure to the financial services industry which enhanced my personal and career development goals. Within Fordham’s academics, two hallmark programs that have allowed me to work in team settings for extended periods where I generated deep analysis and research to support a large final presentation. As part of Gabelli's Consulting Cup, I collaborated with a team of peers to develop a comprehensive solution for Irish Spring, a Colgate-Palmolive brand, addressing its lack of presence in the hair care market. We proposed a new line of Irish Spring shampoo and conditioner products aimed at expanding the brand and positioning it to tap into this untapped market segment. During my freshman year, my team participated in the Ground Floor challenge and developed a comprehensive business plan for Medical Match, a medical care app that gave college students access to virtual providers close to campus.
