About Madison McCarthy

As a Mental Health and Performance Social Work Practicum Counselor at the University of Georgia Athletic Association, I provide confidential counseling services to student-athletes, addressing mental health concerns and promoting overall well-being. I also manage clinic communications, assist with initial client procedures, and conduct triage assessments. In addition to my role as a counselor, I am also a Safety Instructor and Aquatics Manager at the University of Georgia. In this capacity, I supervise lifeguards, ensure safety protocols are followed, and teach American Red Cross courses. I have a strong background in political science and journalism, which I believe enhances my ability to communicate effectively and advocate for the needs of others. I am passionate about creating safe and supportive environments in sports and beyond. I am currently looking for full time, post graduation roles providing psychotherapy.
