About Madison Murphy

Throughout my life I loved learning about what fuels the human body, in a cognitive, physical and emotional way. Especially relating to balancing food and exercise because I love cooking and playing sports. Currently, I am in my junior year continuing my studies in neuroscience while also interning with the Sports Medicine department at Binghamton. I love my experience working with the trainers to assist the student-athletes thus far! As a D1 athlete myself, I can relate personally to the athletes very well. This opportunity is allowing me to utilize my passion for sports and interest in the medical field to learn as much as I can over the semester. My passion for a person's overall well being makes me a reliable ear in the training room for athletes whether they talk about injury or just stressed and overwhelmed. It is satisfying when an athlete makes major progress in their rehab; watching how the growth of physical capabilities and the trainers positive interactions with these athletes correspond to the mental health of them. The most important thing I have learned so far is how important my dedication and communication is to the athlete (patient).
