About Madison Neely

As a senior student in Ocean Science at the University of Georgia, I am fascinated by the diversity and complexity of marine life. I have pursued this interest through my internship at the Georgia Museum of Natural History, where I work with the Ichthyology department to preserve and catalog fish specimens. I have acquired valuable skills in specimen handling, database management, and inventory control, thanks to the guidance and support of the museum staff. In addition to my internship, I have a part-time job as a server and bartender at the Blind Pig Tavern, where I excel at providing high-quality service in a fast-paced environment. I have honed my communication, teamwork, and stress management skills, while building rapport with customers and coworkers. I am eager to apply my skills and knowledge to new challenges and opportunities in the field of ocean science. I am also passionate about scuba diving, which allows me to explore the underwater world and learn more about its inhabitants. I have obtained an Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver certification, and I plan to continue my diving education and experience. I am motivated by my curiosity and enthusiasm for fish and the ocean, and I aspire to make a positive impact on the conservation and understanding of marine ecosystems.
