About Madison Ryan

I am a college student working towards my BS in Anthropology at The Ohio State University with a minor in Organizational Communication and a certificate degree in Diversity, Equality and Inclusion studies. During the course of my academic career, I’ve developed a focus on the importance of holistic and cultural relativism within communication and cross-cultural interactions within organizations and among their constituents, as well as understanding the diversity in and social inequality that is perpetuated within these spaces. I have accrued 6 years of experience prior to and during my college experience in organizing social justice oriented events on campus and creating social media content addressing and informing my fellow students on topics such as Stop Asian Hate, Black Lives Matter, environmental awareness and protection, and advocacy for victims of wartime sexual abuse. My proudest achievement is the success of my organization (Stop Hate OSU) in campaigning for the creation of the Ethnic Studies librarian role, which would allow for heightened access to academic materials and historical texts concerning various ethnic groups across disciplines that were previously difficult to obtain. The research and administrative skills that I have developed over the years have proved valuable to this success.I have the privilege of serving as president of WeHope OSU in my free time, where I learned valuable professional skills such as advocacy, community outreach and organizational needs assessment. In both my academic and professional life, I have been consistently praised as efficient by my professors and peers. Whether working on academic, extracurricular, or professional projects, I apply proven organizational, research and planning skills, as well as a profound understanding of social theory and cooperation that is needed to effectively and efficiently fulfill the roles required for any role.
