About Madison Smith

As a Communication student at the University of Pennsylvania, I am passionate about understanding and influencing audiences and markets through persuasive and strategic communication. I am a Benjamin Franklin Scholar, a prestigious academic honor that recognizes intellectual curiosity and interdisciplinary learning, and a Dean's List recipient for outstanding academic achievement and dedication to scholarship.I have gained valuable hands-on experience in marketing, pricing, and research through my internships and extracurricular activities. Most recently, I completed a four-month internship at Comcast, where I worked with the pricing team to analyze customer data, conduct competitive research, and develop pricing recommendations for new products and services. I also serve as the Marketing Manager at The Daily Pennsylvanian, the independent student newspaper of UPenn, where I lead a team of 15 marketing associates to create and execute campaigns, events, and partnerships to increase readership, engagement, and revenue. Additionally, I am a Research Assistant at the Operations, Information, and Decisions The Business of Emotions Lab, where I assist with data collection, analysis, and visualization for various projects on emotional intelligence, consumer behavior, and decision making.
