Background
About Maegan Little
Although big pharma has a bad reputation, after working in the industry for almost 15 years I know that we are all rooting for the underdog, the little guy, the patients who need medicine. On the days I’d rather sleep in, I get up for the patients. On the days I don’t feel like working late, I keep going for the patients. On the days something unexpected arises, I don’t give up until the situation is managed for the patients. I have always loved to write and so I’ve had flexibility to move from various sectors of the pharmaceutical and biologics industry starting in legal moving to development and then to quality and now to regulatory affairs. It’s also given me the opportunity to work with many intelligent, talented and passionate people from all walks of life on everything from sterile parenterals, gene and cell therapies and combination products. And along the way, I’ve learned I can respect and honestly enjoy working with anyone that wants to do things the right way even if it’s a different way than I would. I have worked in the tightly controlled cGMP, commercial product environment which gives me an advantage when working in the gray areas of product development. I have a clear understanding of where the products need to go but I also understand that things are rarely clear cut in development. And when I switched to biologics, specifically treatments for rare, pediatric diseases, I realized for successful development and commercialization, much of the work focuses on creating the balance between what is ideal versus what is possible and what is expected versus what is required. No matter if the products are intended to treat 1or 100, the patients matter most. And so I keep fighting the good fight for the patients, no matter how many or how few, how old or how young.
