About Maelynn Arnold

MaeLynn Arnold received both her B.M. and M.M. in violin performance from Boston University studying with Bayla Keyes and Peter Zazofsky. She is Suzuki certified and has served on the faculty of the Aurora School of Music in Ohio, South Shore Conservatory, and Winchester Community Music School, and has taught privately since 2002. In April 2009, MaeLynn was part of the Internationale Junge Orchester Akademie performing on tour in Bayreuth and several cities in East Germany. She has performed as soloist with the Lakeland Civic Orchestra, the Toledo Symphony, and the Wellesley Symphony Orchestra where she also served as concertmaster from 2014-2018. As an orchestral musician, she has performed in numerous Northeast Ohio, Boston, and New England area orchestras including Bangor Symphony, Odyssey Opera, Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Cantata Singers, and Boston Pops. She has played under such conductors as Michael Tilson–Thomas, James Conlon, Pierre Boulez, and Franz Welser–Most. In 2010, she was the first place winner of the Tuesday Musical Scholarship Competition hosted in Akron, OH. MaeLynn has participated in summer music festivals including the Boston University Tanglewood Institute, Kent Blossom Music Festival, Credo, Interlochen Summer Arts Academy, Opera de Bauge in France, Spoleto, LUCERNE Festival Academy, and the Deer Valley Music Festival in Park City, Utah. In she founded a trio with her sisters, Strings of Gold, performing in concert and in public outreach settings. She has studied with Milan Vitek and Marilyn McDonald at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, and with Ani Schnarch at the Royal College of Music in London. She has performed in master classes for James Buswell, Christian Tetzlaff, William Preucil, Charles Castleman, Lewis Kaplan, Stephen Clapp, and Andres Cardenas.
