Background
About Maeve Murphy
Being an employee with Argos I was able to enhance my communication and customer service skills to a very high standard. Throughout my 6 years working as a Customer Advisor I needed to ensure that I was up to speed with all the latest technology to provide customers with the best information. I was also involved in dealing with items that had been sent from repair. This involved organising of paperwork for the repair agent ensuring all relevant information had been sent. June 2014 I was employed by Clanrye Group, I was a member of the Employnent Officer Team. During this time I was responsible for ensuring that our students had a suitable work placement that would potentially result in employment at the end of their training. As an Employment Officer it was vital that a good relationship was built between the employe, myself and the student. Another part of this role was to prepare students for any interviews they would be attending, on many occasions mock interviews would have taken place to enable us to provide feedback to the student before their interview with potential employers. When a placement had been secured it is important that reviews take place to ensure all parties involved feel supported. As an Employment Officer it is vital that I kept myself up to date with the different employment support schemes that can be accessed. I would need to work closely with outside organisations to present different options for employer to think of. Throughout this time I feel my organisational skills have developed well as I needed to ensure all areas of work were completed to a high standard. I have successfully completed the P.I.P's Safe Talk course, this course taught me how to deal with individuals how may be having suicidal thoughts. Another course I have recently undertaken carried out by Cruise Bereavement Care, this enables me to confidently support individuals who have been affected by a death.
