About Maeve Pfeifer

Middle school humanities teacher with over 13 years of experience. I specialize in curriculum design with a focus on inquiry and project based learning, with a passion for working with teachers across content areas and grade levels to develop robust and exciting curriculum and lessons. My goal is to create rigorous skill based learning that pushes students to develop critical thinking skills and an understanding of themselves and the world around them. This means ensuring curriculum is critically conscious, and that students see themselves and their communities in their learning. Extensive experience in working as a department chair and working to develop teachers. I have worked to found humanities and history/social studies departments/programs at multiple schools. Further experience in curriculum writing for museums, notably the Leo Baeck Institute, helping to write and develop curriculum for their 1938 Projekt, available to and utilized by educators globally. Additional experience in leading DEI work within schools.
