About Magdalena Bartnik

Magdalena Bartnik is an Associate Professor working in the higher education, scientific research and Pharmaceutical Industry (Laboratory of Quality Control GMP) at the Department of Pharmacognosy with Medicinal Plants Garden, Medical University of Lublin, Poland. She is a Doctor of Pharmacy (PhD, Medical University of Lublin) focused on Phytochemistry and Pharmacognosy, and MSc of molecular Biology (graduated in UMCS Lublin). She is a specialist in methods of analysis of Natural Products such as Spectroscopy, High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Centrifugal Partition Chromatography (CPC), Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) with densitometry, and sample preparation and extraction techniques (SPE, PLE/ASE). Her research interests include optimization of chromatographic separation conditions of furano- and pyranocoumarins, furanochromones, phenolic acids and flavonoids. She deals with CPC separation and LC/MS identification of plant metabolites and biological activity of isolated natural products, especially the anticancer and chemopreventive effects of methoxyfuranocoumarins. She is also a tutor for teachers and students of the Medical University of Lublin and a member of the SILAE (since 2018) and GA (since 2022) scientific societies. She was awarded distinction for her doctoral dissertation, received the Award of the Minister of Higher Education and awards of the Rector of the Medical University of Lublin (for scientific work, teaching and organizational activities).
