About Maggie Folkins
I completed my Bachelor of Science (Marine Biology) at the University of New Brunswick and my MSc in Fisheries Science and Technology at Memorial University. My MSc research was focused on using underwater video to asses the use of new potting technology to fish Greenland Halibut (Turbot). I also use underwater video to look at species density and benthic community structures in inshore areas of the Canadian Arctic (Baffin Island). I have experience working as a field technician in both fresh water and marine environments. I am always seeking opportunities to further my education and work experience in the field of marine biology and fresh water biology. I have a strong interest and passion for research dedicated to fisheries management plans, marine conservation, and the impacts of climate change on the Canadian Arctic environment.
