About Maggie Ryan

I grew up skiing on the slopes of a small, private ski hill in western New York. The hill took about 15 seconds to ski down and was, most of the time, covered in ice in which you could see your reflection. And, on that hill was where my love for skiing blossomed and grew. I moved out west to Steamboat Springs, without my family, at age 16 to pursue the goal of representing the United States at a World Cup event. Fast forward 6 years, 5 surgical repairs, and countless victories, failures, memories and lessons later, and I achieved that goal by skiing for the United States at the Deer Valley World Cup in Park City, Utah. Skiing was my passion and obsession for the past decade of my life, and I couldn’t be prouder of what I was able to achieve given the setbacks I incurred. Not only that, I am also proud to have earned my Bachelor’s degree (B.S. in Management with a Psychology Minor) from Northeastern University while skiing at a world-class level. Skiing taught me that passion, hard work, resilience, teamwork and goal setting can lead to amazing things. Completing school whilst being an elite athlete who was traveling, competing and training worldwide taught me that time management, prioritisation, and discipline is a working formula to achieve whatever you put your mind to. I look forward to transferring a first-hand global perspective and the lessons that skiing has taught me to the workplace.
