About Maike Becker

Welcome to my profile! My name is Maike Hellmich and I am a holder of a Double Degree (B.Sc. Applied Biology / B.Sc. Applied Science). To achieve this I have participated in a specific study programme with a limited number of students - selection was based on both scientific and professional skills - and have spent my regular study time of three years at a German and a Dutch college. After finishing my Bachelor thesis at a globally active pharmaceutical company (MSD Animal Health) I have continued work on my Bachelors project as a Research Technician and could finally succeed in development of several ELISA and AlphaLISA immunoassays. After 1.5yrs in the Netherland I finally moved back to Germany to work for a medical device manufacturer. Amongst other responsibilities I have functioned here as technical lead of validation of microbiological test methods at three European production sites. Following my striving wish for further improvement of my skills in practical work, IT and task coordination, I am currently working as scientific administration assistance at the German Center for Neurodegenerative diseases (DZNE). My position is mainly characterized by set-up of two crucial systems for operating professional laboratories - inventory and temperature control. I am highly interested in the pharmaceutical and research sector, in hands-on and coordination work, but also in validation and IT topics.
