Hey there!If you've found your way to this page, I'm assuming you're interested in learning more about me. Let's get into it!My name is Mairyn McFall and for those of you wondering, my first name is pronounced (M-air-en). No worries if you don't nail it on the first try; most people don't. I'm in my third year at Penn State University, working towards my Supply Chain Management and Information Systems degree, hoping to finish a minor in International Business Relations next May. Having grown up in Pittsburgh, PA, it's unsurprising to hear that I come from a family of Pitt fans. So, I'm sure you can imagine how upset my mom was to find out I chose to attend the rival school. Fortunately, she's warmed up to the "dark side" and now loves visiting me. Next semester, I'm taking my studies over to Rome, Italy, where I plan to utilize my background in International Business Relations, immersing myself in the culture of this new learning environment. I have a strong passion for the environment and recognize supply chain professionals' strong influence on the world. They face tough decisions daily, and balancing sustainability and profitability is a challenging thing to do. I want to be a part of the positive change. Beyond just my love for the world around us, I'm drawn to supply chain management in hopes of challenging societal norms. It's a historically male-dominated field, so choosing to pursue a career in it, I hope to bring my unique perspectives, strong analytical skills, positive attitude, drive to learn, and passion for promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the supply chain sector. When I'm not buried in my studies, I enjoy giving back and doing good within the community. As a club officer for Letters of Love Club and Alumni Relations THON Chair for Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity, I can get involved and do some good. This past summer, I worked as a waitress at Ianni's, a small restaurant in my hometown. Before that, I worked as a sales associate at Gifted Hands Gift Shop for about one year. Through these experiences, I gained a background in customer service, improved my communication skills, and the ability to problem-solve in fast-paced environments. In my free time, you can find me enjoying the outdoors with my dogs, trying new recipes, hitting the ski slopes, listening to music, traveling to new places, and enjoying what life has to offer!
