About Majken Schultz

Majken Schultz is a Professor of Organization Studies at Copenhagen Business School, Denmark since 1996 an. Schultz is among the most cited researchers at Copenhagen Business School. She has managed a number of international research projects. She is currently PI of a research project "Making the Distant Futures Actionable - Innovating for a Zero Carbon Future"(2021-2025) funded by Novo Nordisk Foundation. Majken is actively involved in the Danish Business Community in a variety of networks and has since held several board memberships. She is currently Chair of Carlsberg Foundation and Deputy Chair of Carlsberg A/S. She is also an active member of Skovshoved Roklub. Her research has been located at the interface between organization theory, strategy and communication, where she has contributed with conceptual frameworks of the interplay between culture, identity and image and its application to corporate branding. Her current work explores how actors construct the time horizons within which they operate. She is particularly interested in how distant past and futures are made actionable in the present, relating to discussions on 2050 climate goals, purpose and identity and the use of history. She has published more than 60 articles in leading journals in organization studies and co-written/edited more than a dozen books. Her work has been translated into Spanish, Korean, Portuguise, Turkish, Arabic and Danish. She has received several awards, and spoken at numerous international and national academic and practitioner conferences.
