About Makeda Barkley

With over 5 years of experience in event coordination, production management, project direction, and design, I am a results-driven and versatile professional who can handle diverse and complex projects. I have successfully managed various aspects of production, budget, contracts, staff, vendor recruitment, and operations for the annual Moab Folk Festival and Moab Free Concert Series, as well as the first Moab Facelift volunteer event. As an Assistant Director at Moab Folk Festival, I am passionate about creating exceptional experiences for performers, audiences, and stakeholders. I have increased ticket sales by 30% through effective branding, marketing, and communication strategies. I have also recruited and directed over 200 volunteers, negotiated new projects with six entities, and fundraised for event costs. In addition, I have leveraged my design skills to produce logos, print design, web design, and more for local and national clients as a Freelance Designer.
