About Makenna Elson

As a Laboratory Assistant at the University of North Texas, I supported various research projects on topics such as invasive species, soil quality, and climate change. I gained hands-on experience in conducting experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and preparing reports and presentations. I am also pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Ecology, which aligns with my passion for environmental conservation and sustainability. I have completed courses on ecology, biology, chemistry, and statistics, and I have participated in field trips and workshops to enhance my learning and skills. In addition, I have developed my sales and customer service skills from working as a Sales Associate at The Palm Tree, a local boutique that sells clothing and accessories. I assisted customers with their purchases, handled cash and inventory, and promoted the store's products and values. Furthermore, I have volunteered as an Assistant at the Pollinative Prairie, a community-based initiative to restore native habitats and promote pollinator diversity. I helped with planting, watering, weeding, and monitoring the prairie, and I learned about the importance and benefits of pollinators for the ecosystem and human well-being. I am eager to learn new skills and contribute to meaningful causes in the field of ecology. I am interested in exploring opportunities that allow me to apply my knowledge, experience, and passion to address environmental challenges and create positive impacts.
