I am Makesi Alexander, the Strategic Planner at the National Entrepreneurship Development Company Limited. With over 19 years dedicated to the development of Trinidad and Tobago, I have spent the last 14 years focusing on the significant role of micro and small enterprises in diversifying and sustaining the non-oil sector. In my position, I actively contribute to policy formulation, research analysis, and programme management. I lead initiatives that encourage targeted groups to engage in business activities and play a crucial role in setting up monitoring and evaluation systems to ensure the effective implementation of programmes. I also design programmes aimed at enhancing the success rate of small businesses and collaborate with both local and international experts to ensure their success. I am proud to have successfully formulated and executed the NEDCO Strategic Plan for 2022-2025, integrating its mandates into actionable tasks accomplished by the organization. I have taken the lead in Strategic Partnerships, including Partnerships & Alliances, Advocacy, and Programme Implementation. Additionally, I have overseen the execution of the Public Sector Investment Programme and am the primary author for NEDCO's submissions to both the Finance and Legal Affairs Joint Select Committee (JSC) and the Public Accounts (Enterprises) Committee (PAEC). As a Podcaster I record, edit, and publish podcasts on the Internet. I also research materials, schedule guest speakers, and review content.
