About Malachi Abel

Hello, my name is Malachi Abel. I am currently a student at Indiana-Purdue University Fort Wayne with the intention of graduating in May 2015. My educational focus has mainly been on several different forms of professional and creative writing, however, I have also taken several classes about business, accounting and economics not related to my major. I am currently looking for a way to utilize the skills I already have as a writer or to learn new skills that I do not have. I have had some experience with publishing in the past, but nothing too significant. I am currently interested in attempting to continue to develop my writing skills as a freelance writer or editor. In addition to my life and education related to writing, I also have 5 years of experience in retail provided by Wal-Mart Stores. I have been in positions ranging from: Lawn and Garden Associate, Grocery Associate, Produce Associate, and Inventory Associate. My current position is as an Inventory Associate in the backroom of Wal-Mart #1570 in Auburn. During my time at Wal-Mart, I have learned valuable skills such as being flexible, working hard to meet deadlines, customer service, the importance of communication between management and departments, and strategies for placement of features. It is my hope that I can use the experience that I have gained to pursue a management position at Wal-Mart to support myself while I keep developing my writing skills.
