About Malak Abraham

I am a chemical engineering graduate from the University of Alberta. I was part of the engineering cooperative program and worked for: 1) PCL Industrial Construction as a project coordinator 2) Enbridge in their project services team 3) ATCO Pipelines in their transmission engineering group designing high pressure piping in Albera. I then worked at Enbridge as part of their rotational engineer in training program where I had the privilege of working in four roles over four years: 1) Reliability engineering where I modelled common failure and repair times and provided recommendation to improve throughput of assets 2) Operations out of Sarnia, ON. I wrote job plans for energy isolation of systems, ILI runs etc. As well as entered risk assessments for operational projects. Lastly, I provided technical direction based on CSA Z662, API and internal Standards 3) Liquid Control Center in Edmonton, AB as a rate loss matter subject matter expert for any unplanned failures. 4) Supported the execution of projects in Western Canada as part of the Construction team at Enbridge. Made sure projects were completed on time, within budget, and safely. 5) Most recently, I have worked for Alliance Pipeline as a measurement team lead. I run the gas quality program, provide recommendation to yearly and multi-year budget planning, support environmental teams with provincial and state GHG emissions reporting, upgrade and calibrate ultrasonic meters, and support with the month end process using FlowCal. I was part of the Alliance acquisition from Enbridge to Pembina Pipelines. I became a professional engineer licensed to practice April 6, 2023. Since then I have volunteered with APEGA mentorship cafe to support other engineers with obtaining their P. eng designation. I have predominantly worked in the oil and gas industry and am very thankful for the opportunity and people I have gotten the pleasure to work with in this industry. I also currently a volunteer with the Young Professionals in Energy and help with advancing young professional in Calgary's energy sector through social events and educational programs. Each day I hope to learn, improve, lead with kindness and create community.
