About Malak Salmo

I am a senior full-stack software engineer with outstanding achievements focused on designing, improving, and implementing software and cloud application architecture. I have worked in and across teams and companies of all sizes, developing everything from application enhancements and to minimum viable product features. My experience allows me to fill every niche, from improving existing code to developing features requested by product managers from the ground up. In my position as a Senior Software Engineer at Autodesk Water Infrastructure Platform Services team, I worked on feature requests, improvements, and fixes for code that was used both internally by our other teams and externally by our end users. Among my many accomplishments, I am most proud of the following: Architecting and developing an ingestion pipeline to ingest large (~125+ MB) CSV files in a timely manner, allowing our users to bulk import data into their account for quicker onboarding. Designing and creating a user emulation layer through our authentication and context flow that enabled our support team to emulate end-users' accounts and, with our end-users' permission, solve issues directly on their accounts. Architecting, designing, and proposing alternative flows to our other teams to allow our users to asynchronously upload files, preventing them from being stuck on any one page for too long while a file upload finishes. Developing and refactoring our front-end user context and application states to give our internal teams and end-users a way to have different sessions of our application across multiple tabs so that they can work on multiple user tenants at once. Developed and improved many MongoDB queries and calls by utilizing aggregate pipelines and facets, reducing their time by making them more parallelized. I enjoy designing and writing readable, maintainable code as it reduces technical debt by preventing it altogether. As such, I am always looking to improve my understanding of everything from high level software architecture to the low level code implementation and am always happy to discuss things here.
