About Malathi Nalagama

I’m a graduate student in Technology Management – Engineering Technology at Bowling Green State University, with hands-on experience in fabrication lab operations, process optimization, and quality improvement. Currently, as a Fab Lab Manager at the PAST Foundation, I manage digital fabrication tools such as CNC laser cutters and 3D printers, develop safety protocols and SOPs, and support users in design and prototyping. My work focuses on creating efficient, safe, and innovative maker space environments. 🧪 Previously, as a Graduate Research Assistant, I conducted corrosion and thermal analysis on stainless steel 316L, using tools like SEM, optical microscopy, and DoE/SPC techniques to evaluate and improve material performance—applying research to industrial use cases. My academic and project work is supported by a strong foundation in Six Sigma, Lean Systems, Project Management, and Quality Planning, with additional exposure to HR processes from my MBA background. This combination allows me to understand both technical systems and team dynamics. I’m passionate about driving operational efficiency and continuous improvement through data-driven problem solving. Currently seeking full-time opportunities in quality engineering, process improvement, or technical operations, where I can contribute with both engineering skill and cross-functional insight.
