About Malaya Press

Hi! I am a queer, mixed-race musician and administrator with roots in the classical music/opera and theatre worlds. My mission is to fuse my creative and arts-management backgrounds to advocate for new work and the work of my fellow QTPOC artists. My focus has turned toward fundraising, where I have experience in grant and solicitation writing, engagement events, and development operations. I am a recent alum of Ithaca College, where I graduated from the Bachelor of Music in Combination with an Outside Field program. This allowed me to shape my own studies and weave together a unique education in music and arts management. My hands-on work with event planning, patron communication, and collaboration have deeply impacted my work and led me to internships and the fellowship I hold currently. I also have over 16 years of experience as a classical musician, including nine years of training in voice and 11 years of ensemble experience as a trombonist. I love and prioritize newer works whether as a performer or an audience member and plan on always centering it as my career grows from here.
