My main goal is helping underserved communities in the South/Southeast live healthier lifestyles! I am a May 2020 graduate from the University of South Carolina with my PhD in Epidemiology after successfully defending my dissertation, with a focus on inflammatory biomarker outcomes among African-American women. Currently I’m an Assistant Professor at the Georgia Cancer Center conducting quantitative and qualitative research on social determinants of health (e.g. food deserts, food swamps) and multiple cancer outcomes (breast, prostate, early onset colorectal), including development of novel healthy lifestyle interventions to mitigate cancer morbidity and mortality among African Americans.
