About Malcolm Lawrence

30+ years experience as a senior IP attorney at shareholder level, primarily practicing in the contentious pharma/nutrition and life sciences patent areas but also maintaining a broad international trade mark practice. I have also managed client projects and client relationships in other technologies for many years from a business viewpoint, providing strategic and tactical input requested by clients to assist the work of others in the team. As the nature of IP and its perception by clients has developed, my activities have increasingly included various aspects of managing IP estates, including policy development, decision structures, process design, risk management, IP governance and outsource management. Specialties: As a good lateral thinker when faced with legal problems and challenging client objectives, I'm recognised in many quarters as an author of creative legal arguments, as well as having the determination and advocacy skills to carry them off. More generally, I’m a determined innovator and agent of change. I don’t believe achieving mere satisfaction in clients' minds is enough and that’s what most people think about me first.
