About Malcolm May

I completed High School in Blyth, Northumberland, England in 1988. I joined the British Army in 1992. I was recruited as a Royal Engineer and completed basic Combat Engineer Training. I then moved onto to become a Plant Operator Mechanic within the Corps of the Royal Engineers. I was trained at the Royal School of Military Engineering Chatham, England, and qualified as a Power and Hydraulic Mechanic by the London Institute of City and Guilds, London, UK. I also completed a tour of duty in Bosnia, former Yugoslavia (1995-1996). I joined Central Scotland Police, Stirling, Scotland, UK in 1997. I completed 7.5 year as a Police Constable and was stationed at Alloa, Tullibody, Stirling and Callander, Scotland. During this time I was qualified as an Officer Safety Training Instructor, Police Training Officer and Hand Held Radar Instructor. I also completed a 7 month tour in Camp Zeist, Utrecht, Netherlands during the Lockerbie Trial During this tour I was employed as one of the Camp Controller and responsible for the security and movement of the prisoners. I moved from Scotland, UK to Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 2004. I joined Calgary Police service, Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 2005 (until present). I have been stationed in 8 District Patrol, 6 District Patrol, The Court and Disclosure Unit and The Forensic Crimes Scene Unit. During this time I was qualified as a Police Training Officer, Public Order Unit Officer and a Forensic Identification Specialist. I hold a High School Diploma, Certificates in Plant Technology, Plant Operation and Plant Mechanics, 2 Police Standard Certificates, a Forensic Identification Certificate and a Bachelor in Forensic Identification.
