Malcolm Thimmanah is a Civil Engineering Technologist with 14 years’ experience and has been exposed to different type of projects in the Transportation Design field of Engineering. He plays an integral part of the Transportation Pavement Engineering and Construction division at Naidu Consulting, completing projects for various Governmental Organisations(SANRAL, KZN DOT, Ethekwini municipality, Hibicus Coast municipality) with the following Key experience: • Liaison with client representatives and providing technical and financial reports as required by the client body. • Liaison with service providers for approvals, installations, etc. • Visual Assessments. • Prepare and present preliminary design reports, including layout, cost estimate, options etc. to the client for approval. • Convert Preliminary design and drawings to tender design and drawings and then to construction drawings. • Prepare estimate at tender stage for cash flow prediction of client. • Evaluate tenders received to prepare an adjudication report to assist the client to appoint the appropriate contractor. • Prepare payment certificates. • Site Supervision. • As Assistant Resident Engineer: o Ensure that the project runs smoothly, by attending to any queries and to keep in accordance with quality of works specified by client. Complete the contract administration role during construction. • As Assistant Construction Manager- Ensure that the projects run within the principles set out by the client- Attend to various matters which include claims, payment certs, SEQ’s, SI’s, VO’s, CPG, EPWP, Training, Design, detailing, progress meetings, audits, business plans, etc.
