WORK HISTORY 2022 – Current LinQ Media Group | London Chief Editor and Planner of Danish Subtitles In my current position as Chief Editor it is my responsibility to ensure that all subtitles are delivered well and to the highest standards to amongst others Discovery, Netflix and Nent. Duties include: • Team leader for in-house staff. • Managing LinQ’s pool of Danish freelance translators, ensuring that they all maintain the best possible subtitling standard. • Recruiting, training and providing continuous support to new translators. • Planning translation projects and allocating project tasks to translators. • Monitoring projects’ progress and solving problems that might arise. • Proofreading and QC’ing translations and subtitles for Danish language projects. • Machine translation testing. 10/2009 - 2022 Discovery Networks Northern Europe | London Content Operations Lead I worked in the language team which was part of the content team in the programming department. I coordinated the ordering and delivery of localisation (subtitles and dubbing) for all Nordic languages for Discovery’s linear and streaming channels. Duties included- Ordering and tracking the delivery of subtitles and dubbed versions- Quality checking subtitles- Preparing subtitles for broadcast- Resolving delivery complications- Fixing on-air issues- Liaising with production companies and vendors to ensure that all titles met the required quality requirements and were delivered in a timely manner and to budget- Hiring and onboarding of new team members to make certain best practises were followed- Improving processes for the team's daily work to keep costs down- Creating subtitle delivery workflows for events such as the Olympics.
