About Malia Cafasso

With a dual background in Environmental Science and Environmental Studies, I’m passionate about bridging the gap between scientific understanding and real-world community engagement. Whether I’m in the field or collaborating in a shared office, my work is grounded in the belief that community is at the heart of meaningful environmental change. Throughout my time at Brandeis University, I founded multiple student organizations and discovered a deep love for connecting with people—whether that means sparking conversations about sustainability or supporting others in weaving eco-consciousness into their lives, careers, and communities. I believe environmental work should be accessible, inclusive, and personally meaningful—and I strive to make it so through outreach, citizen science, and community-based projects. I’m currently exploring the intersection of community building and environmental engagement to find my niche, and I’m energized by this stage of discovery. I’m here to learn, collaborate, and contribute to a more sustainable and connected future.
