Background
About Malia Kah
Hello! My name is Malia Kah, and I am a young professional in the state of Michigan determined to do the most good. Currently, I organize and help synthesize clinical service data in order to collaborate on how to bring the greatest care to those who are served at the wonderful health center, The Oxford Center. My position as an administrative assistant to clinical services fulfills me in many ways, but the best part is knowing that my job enables people to feel hope again and heal. Right now, I am working on compiling and analyzing clinical data. I then get to use that information to collaborate with a wonderful team to make the best decisions for others. While The Oxford Center is where I reside now, my past experience has always been to help others. Prior to starting in the health-care career, I was committed to non-profit work that focused on public health and equity for all. One of the greatest opportunities I had was working for the Detroit non-profit, Hope Village Revitalization. Here I maintain and gathered community data revolving around their incredible farmers’ market project. What a beautiful thing to bring community together, and in turn, see it flourish and strengthen from within! Before my professional career I started my humble beginnings working for the Michigan grocery store company, Busch’s Food Market. Still to this day, I view my experience working in the stock department as the most physically challenging position I have ever had. Here, each day was a hard days work in more ways than one. Working there for nearly 5 years taught me how to work hard, plan projects that you execute with a team, and how to manage yourself when the going gets tough. All of those who are considered necessary workers will always have my respect and gratitude. Most of all, this position taught me that we all need everyone, and everyone is important. This is a mindset I take with every job position thereafter. In summary, for being in my late twenties, the job experience and career I have started has been a fulfilling one. There is still much to learn and much to give, and I can’t wait to see what this path brings me next!
