About Malin Lundberg

As an ecologist I have knowledge about both terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, and I have a passion for work that aims to integrate nature conservation and species movement in the landscape with other important public interest, such as development, agriculture and forestry. I have a M.Sc. in Landscape Ecology, with a focus on landscape connectivity using both practical in-field skills and GIS modelling. With these tools I can study the configuration of different habitats in the landscape and how we can create corridors for species to use that connects the habitats. I have a wide experience of field work, which have included land cover and land use surveys, habitat surveys, species surveys including presence of Badgers, Otters, Sand Martins and Bats. I have also formulated management plans for nature conservation. Since joining JBA, I have taken part of a wide range of projects. In 2018 one of my main tasks was to support and do the quality control on the 2018 field surveys for the EU commissioned LUCAS project in Ireland, which focuses on land use and land cover in the landscape and how it changes over time. Further, I have carried out habitat surveys including the recording of invasive species along watercourses and winter mammal surveys with focus on Badgers and Otters. I am also supporting the ecology team with producing maps in GIS and I have authored a number of reports, such as Appropriate Assessment Screening reports and Ecological Impact Assessment reports for private developers and county councils.
