About Malinda Meadows

Hi, I'm Malinda — a writer, reader, and someone who's perhaps a little too comfortable with talking about death. While I like writing and editing in many forms (see my work below), I enjoy writing about grief the most. Some of my work explores the connection between comfort food and grief, while other pieces help to guide those who want to support a loved one who experiencing bereavement. This work spans food publications to sympathy companies to slow living brands. In addition to client work, I'm currently working on a collection of poetry focusing on grief in the lowercase form. Hospital, death, a funeral, the endless paperwork that follows — this, in my experience, is grief with a capital G. My poetry focuses on the quieter moments of grief: missed birthdays, talking to ghosts, forgotten recipes, the subtle tug of sadness when seeing someone who resembles the loved one, the scent of pinecones, maybe. In short, I want to spend my life talking about death. The more we can have candid conversations surrounding death and grief, the better lives we can lead.
