About Malisa Smith

A teacher, a pastor, and a tourist walk into a bar… oh, wait, they’re one person. Diversity of experience is what I bring to the table. I have spent my whole life getting ready to write for you. Travel, faith, and sports are my passions, teaching, hospice, and graphic design are my experience, and writing, humor, and intuitiveness are my gifts. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but sometimes you need the words. Even a picture on a website requires a ‘image alt’ written description. And putting your thoughts, story, business mantra, product description, or even creating a script with the perfect tone that can affect people is where I excel. I have a passion for travel after spending several years living overseas with my family. That same family loves sports – so I have played and coached on many levels and in a variety of sports. That early travel kindled my love of other cultures which I parlayed into my first career as an art educator with 17 years of success and accolades. My faith and desire to make a difference expanded into being a volunteer for hospice, missionary trips, and a plethora of non-profit experience including working for a hospice for 25+ years now. I simultaneously went back to school to get my degree in theology. In all of these areas I have written and created hundreds of fliers, articles, pamphlets, speeches, sermons, ads, web content, signs, newsletters, direct marketing pieces, and even skits, scripts and plays. And now, I am certified as a SEO Content Specialist by AWAI. How does this help you? You have someone that gets that a picture is worth a thousand words, but you have the opportunity to work with someone that can create a mental picture with words. I can write sincere, empathetic, and humorous equally well. While my experience gives me a notch up in certain niches, I also am very intuitive and can create perfect messaging for your needs after hearing what it is the world needs to know about you.
