About Malisa Szalkiewicz
Malisa Szalkiewicz has dedicated herself to education for 25 years. Having earned a Master's Degree of Bilingual/ Multicultural Education, Malisa truly has the heart of a teacher. Once she started teaching yoga in 2007, her entire world became immersed in it. As the owner/manager of Northern Arizona Yoga Center & Vertical Soul Yoga Institute, she has prioritized co-creating a local yoga community, directed annual yoga teacher trainings, and managed her own yoga studio. In 2018, she expanded her yoga offerings by working as a yoga therapist with Neurosurgeon, Dr. Whitney James. Malisa teaches patients in chronic pain (many of them spinal surgery candidates) yoga techniques to help them reduce their medications and stress while transforming their relationship with pain. She is co-owner of Inner Atlas, a company that offers a comprehensive model for patient care. From high school gyms to medical offices, she has shared her passion for yoga with thousands of people.
