About Malissa Hernandez

With 18 years of experience at the University of La Verne, I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of interconnected roles, including Alumni Relations and Special Events, Biographical Data Specialist, and Department Manager for the Communications and History & Political Science Departments. Currently, I support the Provost’s Office, streamlining operations to help senior leadership focus on strategic decision-making. I bring a well-rounded skill set, including office and project management, event planning and coordination. Additionally, I have managed financial operations, including budget oversight and accounts payable, and have extensive experience in data management and record-keeping. My background in alumni relations and special events has allowed me to build strong, long-lasting relationships with alumni, students, faculty, staff and administrators, ensuring continued engagement and support across the entire university community. As a servant leader, I thrive in collaborative environments, offering creative problem-solving and ensuring that projects are completed on time with thoughtful solutions. My ability to connect with others through effective communication and relationship-building allows me to foster a positive and inclusive work culture, ultimately contributing to team and organizational success.
