This solution resolved the problem of having to manually update SSIS packages within the IDE, and all packages are generated based off of patterns which depicts the actual design of the packages, and are all based off a set of config tables that contain the metadata that the BIML solution then makes use of to generate the packages. Had loads of fun doing this!
