About Mallory Cain

Self-motivated and extremely organized individual who has specialized in education, mental health, and criminal justice. Earned Bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University, Texarkana majoring in Psychology with minors in Sociology and Criminal Justice (BS). Earned Master's degree from Southern Arkansas University, Magnolia with major in teaching (MAT). Work experience includes basic clerical skills, advertising, newspaper production, mental health professional, probation officer, and educator for grades 4-8. I specialize in working with children and adults in a mental health setting. I have done at home visits with clients to teach social and work skills and provide training on coping skills, anger management, and evaluation for services. I also have six years of experience in working with children with special needs in an education and mental health setting. I work well alone but I also strive for team alignment and encourage the use of goal planning and setting to ensure collaboration and understanding among all parties. In working with offenders, I have learned that building rapport is one of the most important tasks in order to have a successful relationship. I have learned that honesty and respect will get you a long way with individuals who have had encounters with law enforcement. In working with children and adults in a mental health setting, I have learned that listening is the single most important task when interacting with this population. Lastly, in education I have learned that positive relationships with students, parents, and administration is key. I also believe that parent education and community involvement is crucial for student growth in social, emotional, and academic areas. All of the above coupled with being highly organized, punctual, and professional would make me a great candidate for careers within and out of my previous career choices. I am open to new opportunities and continuing to learn both professionally and personally.
