About Mallory Mahon

Hi, there! My name is Mallory Mahon, and I currently teach 7th grade ELA at East Union Attendance Center in northeast Mississippi. I have over 5 years of combined experience in education; I taught 6th grade ELA for 3 years, and am currently in my 3rd year of teaching 7th grade. Additionally, I have extensive knowledge of the written word, as I have been a freelance editor and a tutor for several individuals and institutions. After graduating from the University of Mississippi in 2017 with a B.A. in Secondary Education, I knew that I wanted to gain as much knowledge, insight, and training as possible in my field. I have an M.Ed in Educational Leadership from Mississippi College (go, Choctaws!), where I graduated with a 4.0. I am motivated, passionate, and determined to make education a priority in my state and for my students. Education is the most powerful tool one can possess, and I am passionate about bringing new ideas and challenging norms for the sake of student success and growth. Ultimately, my goal is to work in administration or in curriculum development in some capacity. Aside from education, I am an avid reader, a true crime fanatic, and Dolly Parton's biggest fan.
