About Malone Starson

With over eight years of work experience in plant health, laboratory, and event coordination roles, I am a Graduate Research Assistant at Clemson University, pursuing my Master's degree in Plant and Environmental Sciences. My research focuses on integrated pest management, a field that combines biological, cultural, physical, and chemical methods to control pests and diseases in plants and crops. I apply my data analysis, laboratory skills, and computer literacy to conduct experiments, collect and process samples, and report findings. Before joining Clemson, I worked as a Plant Health Technician at The Greenery Inc, where I was responsible for plant health maintenance and disease prevention, using my disease identification and management skills to monitor and improve the quality of plants and soil. I also have experience in event coordination and marketing, having worked as a Jr. Event Coordinator for SWAGGER LLC, where I assisted with the organization and timing of professional bike races nationwide, such as US Road Nationals, Red Bull Last Stand, Athens Twilight, and the USA Crits series. My core competencies include plant health, laboratory skills, data analysis, event coordination, and marketing. I am passionate about plant and environmental sciences, and I aim to contribute to the advancement of knowledge and innovation in this field.
