About Manan Rathi

I’m currently studying software engineering with a strong drive for business and innovation. While my core focus is on engineering, I have shaped my degree to reflect a broader perspective. I have specialized in security engineering and completed all my general electives in economics to better understand how technical solutions connect with market dynamics, strategy, and value creation. Throughout university, I have actively pursued practical and impactful experiences. I joined Redback Racing, our university’s Formula SAE Team, where I worked on sponsorship initiatives and learned how technical teams secure critical resources. I also completed an internship at Dovetail Electric Aviation, developing machine learning models to facilitate the transition of conventional aircraft to electric propulsion. Another major part of my journey has been Sunswift Racing, a vertically integrated solar car project. I contributed to requirements engineering, system interfacing, and life cycle integration, eventually stepping into a senior leadership role. This role led to multiple Guinness World Records, winning the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge, and co-authoring a published research paper, with more in progress. Alongside my project work, I have worked as a casual academic, teaching cyber security to undergraduate students. This role has deepened my understanding while enhancing my ability to communicate effectively and mentor others. I am also currently undertaking a work integrated learning module, gaining structured industry experience while still completing my studies. I have had the privilege of my parents living in Singapore, which has given me the opportunity to travel to a large part of the world. I have visited multiple countries, experienced diverse cultures, and developed a global mindset. I have watched formula one at several iconic tracks, and attended professional tennis matches across all surfaces including grass, clay, and hard courts. I have also had the chance to watch numerous international cricket matches, including matches played on spin-friendly, bounce-heavy, and swing-oriented pitches, giving me an appreciation for the tactical depth and nuance of the sport. Above all, I want to be someone who can understand complex problems and translate them into secure, scalable, and reliable solutions. Whether in engineering, business, or broader systems, I am committed to developing the mindset, technical expertise, and leadership needed to make a meaningful impact.
